Keefe D has been found guilty of the murder of Tupac Shakur, nearly 30 years after the rapper was fatally shot in Las Vegas. 

The verdict brings a major development in one of the most closely followed unsolved cases in hip-hop history. Keefe D, whose real name is Duane Davis, had previously spoken publicly about Tupac’s killing in interviews and in a book, before eventually facing trial over the rapper’s death. 

He is due to be sentenced on October 13. 

Tupac Shakur was shot in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, while travelling in a BMW with Death Row Records co-founder Marion “Suge” Knight. He died six days later at the age of 25. 

The murder remained unsolved for decades and became the subject of widespread speculation, with Tupac’s death continuing to generate discussion among fans, journalists and the wider hip-hop community.
