Bogotá is gearing up for another major celebration of hip-hop as Hip Hop al Parque returns to the Colombian capital this month on October 24–25.
Recognised as one of Latin America’s leading free urban-culture festivals, the event brings together the many elements that have shaped hip-hop culture over the decades. Rap takes centre stage, alongside breaking, DJing and graffiti, creating a weekend that celebrates both established artists and the wider creative community.
But Hip Hop al Parque is about more than live performances. Workshops and exhibitions give audiences the chance to explore the culture beyond the stage, highlighting the creativity, history and community that sit at the heart of hip-hop.
With its combination of music, street art, dance and education, the festival has become an important part of Bogotá’s cultural calendar. For two days, the city will once again become a meeting point for artists, dancers, DJs, writers and fans, reflecting the energy and diversity of Colombia’s hip-hop scene.
As October approaches, Bogotá is preparing to welcome another huge weekend of urban culture — and, as always, the celebration promises to be about far more than just the music.
