The Official Charts Company has today announced the launch of the Official UK Rap Chart, which celebrates the biggest UK rap songs each week. The chart will be hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Kenny Allstar.
The Official UK Rap Chart will feature a mix of sales and streams across the UK. This will give artists, both big and up-and-coming, a platform to celebrate their success.
The Official UK Rap Chart will air every Friday on Kenny Allstar’s 1Xtra show (9pm – 11pm). The first ever chart will air on Friday 6th November. The full chart can be found on OfficialCharts.com.
“It means a lot to me. I’m truly honoured to be hosting the first official UK Rap Chart! UK Rap has influenced mainstream music and pop culture for years and it’s great that there is now a dedicated space for it,” said Kenny Allstar.
Following the continued success of UK Rap and the many chart topping artists, global successes and some of the most exciting new talent the country has to offer, this is another milestone for UK Rap Culture
