Snoop Dogg is stepping into one of MTV’s biggest nights as host of the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards, bringing one of hip-hop’s most recognisable figures back to the network that has been part of his story for decades. 

The 2026 VMAs will take place on Sunday, September 27, with the ceremony set to air live at 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+. 

For Snoop, the hosting role represents another chapter in a long-running relationship with MTV. From music videos and unforgettable performances to interviews, appearances and award-show moments, the rapper has been closely connected with the culture that MTV helped bring into living rooms around the world.
