The streets of Wales are set to come alive with creativity, rhythm, and raw artistic energy as a major graffiti and hip-hop festival ‘Meeting of Styles Cymru’ makes its debut and wll bring together artists, performers, and music lovers from across the UK. The festival promises a vibrant mix of live mural painting, DJ sets, breakdancing, rap performances, and community workshops designed to celebrate the roots and evolution of urban culture.
Taking place across a weekend packed with events, the festival will transform public spaces into open-air galleries, with internationally recognised graffiti artists creating large-scale murals in real time. Visitors will have the chance to watch the artwork develop from blank walls into colourful statements of identity, culture, and social expression.
Alongside the visual art, the sounds of hip-hop will echo throughout the venue as local and national performers take to the stage. From underground MCs to established DJs, the festival aims to showcase the diversity and influence of hip-hop culture in Wales and beyond. Dance crews and freestyle battles are also expected to draw crowds, adding an electrifying atmosphere to the celebrations.
Organisers say the event is about more than entertainment it is also about community, creativity, and giving young people a platform for expression. Workshops in graffiti art, lyric writing, beat-making, and street dance will offer opportunities for attendees to learn directly from experienced artists and performers.
The festival highlights how graffiti and hip-hop have evolved from underground movements into globally respected art forms while still remaining deeply connected to local communities and social storytelling. With colour splashed across walls and basslines filling the air, Wales is preparing for a festival that celebrates individuality, freedom, and the power of urban culture.
The festival is run’s from 2 July to 5 July 2026 in Cardiff, across Grangetown, Butetown and the city centre.
