Portland Hip Hop Week returns August 20–26, 2026, bringing together artists, DJs, dancers, community leaders and Hip Hop fans for a week-long celebration of one of the city’s most important cultural movements.
The festivities are set to kick off with a free, all-ages block party at Portland City Hall on August 20, followed by a packed programme of events, workshops, showcases and community activities throughout the week. Organisers say the celebration is designed to unify, amplify, educate and elevate Portland’s Hip Hop community.
Founded from Portland Hip Hop Day, the event grew into a full Hip Hop Week in 2018. It was created through the work of local figures including David “O.G.ONE” Jackson and the late Idris “STARCHILE” O’ferrell, whose legacy continues to be honoured through the annual STAR Awards.
While the full list of 2026 performers is still being rolled out, the week is expected to feature a broad mix of Portland and Pacific Northwest talent, including MCs, DJs, dancers and other artists, alongside workshops, showcases and special community events. The official calendar is continuing to update with events and appearances throughout the week.
More than just a music festival, Portland Hip Hop Week aims to spotlight the people, creativity and community connections that have helped shape the city’s Hip Hop scene for years. With events ranging from performances to education and recognition, organisers are promising another celebration of culture, talent and the power of bringing people together.
