Taking Aim at Papoose After ‘Jezebel’ Diss 

Remy Ma has entered her latest chapter with a pen in her hand. The Bronx rap veteran has dropped her new six-track project titled ‘Alimony’, and given everything that’s unfolded between her and Papoose, the title alone is enough to get hip-hop talking. 

The project arrives amid an increasingly public war of words between the former couple, with Remy and Papoose trading accusations through interviews, social media and, most importantly, records. 

Remy’s “W.Y.F.L.” already fired back at claims made by Papoose, and Alimony now gives her an entire project to tell her side of the story. The EP also features appearances from Tink, ROE and Keke Wyatt. 

Then there’s Papoose’s “Jezebel.” Released earlier this month, the track took direct aim at Remy, with Papoose using “Jezebel” as a pointed insult while revisiting their relationship and making fresh allegations about their marriage. 

So when Remy appears to embrace the “Jezebel” label with a chain bearing the word, the symbolism is hard to miss. 

In hip-hop, taking an opponent’s insult and flipping it back on them is nothing new. It’s part of the culture’s long tradition of turning disrespect into ammunition — and Remy’s apparent embrace of “Jezebel” fits neatly into that tradition. 

Musically, the former couple are now doing what rappers have always done when relationships, pride and public perception collide: put it on wax. 

Remy has already made it clear that she’s willing to answer Papoose bar for bar, while Alimony takes the feud beyond a single diss record. Even the EP’s title plays directly into the realities of their divorce, making the personal situation impossible to separate from the music. 

Whatever hip-hop fans make of the claims coming from either side, the bigger hip-hop story is the same: Remy Ma and Papoose have taken their breakup from social media to the booth — and now there’s a soundtrack
